Planting of the shelter belt around the community garden started weekend before last. A hardy bunch braved the rain to lay wool backed carpet and plant native willow cuttings. Jenny Taylor kindly provided training and we now feel confident to progress around the site. The aim is to establish shelter around the perimeter, especially the western side. Thanks to all for their hard work!
We welcome donations of willow cuttings and wool backed carpets – please leave on the site by the shed if you can!
STROMNESS COMMUNITY GARDEN NEEDS YOU! We will be organising more work days over the coming weeks to continue with tree planting, marking out / digging drains and polytunnel foundations…
