Polytunnel and drains

We had a good day on site yesterday with half a dozen folk turning out to help. The polytunnel was marked out exactly with pegs and string. Next stage involves digging out footings for the poles and filling these with concrete. It was great to see the full 19.5m by 6.4m space laid out – it looks big with plenty of growing space. A small drain channel was also dug across the site to try and alleviate some of the surface water in the central area. This will eventually be a wetland area, but is flooded due to recent rainfall and some of the surface water needed removing so that we can cross the site. The frog spawn is fine!

Drain digging. Mucky work but it has helped removed surface water.
