Tabletop sale fundraiser

Our stall at the Christmas tabletop sale at Stromness Town Hall last Saturday raised £63! Thanks to those who bought raffle tickets, books, herbs, bulbs and the amazing woven willow. The ‘guess the weight of the pumpkin’ (grown by Kate in the polytunnel) was a hit!

One year on, the polytunnel is looking great!

One year on the polytunnel is looking great. We moved in a year ago in June, and all the plots are nearly taken. Most have had a good head start from last year and the plots are looking great. Over 10 folk helped out today in getting the polytunnel frame well under way. The main frame hoops, triangulation and ridge piece are in place. It looks fantastic and pretty big! Paths near completion! Next work day Sun 10th August

We had a productive work day last Saturday. Field drains were laid below the path and geotextile and stone chips were laid. A culvert was built from concrete blocks and slabs for the main ditch. It’s all very dry now but this area was ankle deep in surface water in the spring! The path now nearly … Continue reading
